McNothing was born in Tunkhannock, a small town nestled in the Endless Mountains of Northeaster PA. The bastard son of a ukulele salesman, Chris took to music as a small boy. Later he went on to become a professional gameshow contestant before ultimately losing complete control of his salvitory glands. It was during the intense nine months of physical therapy that Chris happened upon Mike, a budding disco dancer with a knack for public speaking. Seperately they could go far, but together they could conquer the world, or at least Noxen.

But seriousely.....Mike and Chris are two dudes from Tunhannock who individually have a unique vocal history in the Northeastern PA music scene. Put them together, and you have the unmistakable power that is McNothing. The name itself sums up the bands willingness to joke about it's simplicity. Don't let the word 'duo' fool you. This vocal team has as much energy as an entire band. When asked about the duo, Chris and Mike agreed that the high level of passion in their performances almost takes the place of bass and drums. Mike comments,"People still get up and dance when they want to; most people feel the beat inside them...it's an awesome thing!"

(Chris) "Yah, I think people can feel the energy; it's so stripped down in a duo, and people can really see whats going on up there. You can't really fool anyone, not even yourself. Sometimes I just close my eyes, getting into a groove, either singing or listening to Mike sing...I'm just loving it. I think it shows. We perform the same for ten people as we do for 300."

(Mike) "Yah, it's so wierd, we warm up with a few songs, and by the third or forth song we can feel ourselves slipping into this fog. It's like the room becomes this arena that Chris and I dream of playing."

(Chris) "God, I love getting in that trance; people see it and they believe in you...there's nothing like it! I still get star-struck when I see musicians on any level that can perform with passion; it's magnetic. Energy comes in small packages. The acoustic movement is alive and well in NEPA...look for it. I went out the other night to catch k8 for the first time (she's a local solo acoustic act); Wow, she definitely has the passion, and a great personality to the crowd...she kicks ass! It's out there; you just need to look for it."

(Mike), "Yo, we have fun, too...we're all about that. What good is music without laughing your ass off? It's all about partying and feeling good. We joke about ourselves all night at gigs. When Chris screws up a guitar part, he's the first to say "yo, I'm a drummer, what did you expect?"...we just laugh when we mess up. It's like Chris said, "you can't hide behind anything." We play so close to the people. Sometimes we skip the stage, and set up right next to the bar. We like to be in with the people; it's where we feel most comfortable."

McNothing is a unique blend of unexpected covers laced with originals. You won't hear most of the standards associated with acoustic acts. What you WILL hear may suprise you; experience it for yourself!
